  • Tagged Form Fields

Form objects must be in a <Form> tag in the Accessibility Tags tree.

    To do so:

    1. Select the Accessibility Tags side panel from the right-rail toolbar.
    2. Select and expand the Options menu (ellipses).
    3. Select New Tag... The New Tag dialog box will open.
    4. Set Type to Form and select OK.
    5. With the <Form> tag selected, select and expand the Options menu (ellipses).
    6. Select Find... The Find Element dialog box will open.
    7. Set Find to Unmarked Annotations and select Find.
    8. Select Tag Element for each found form field.
  • Field Descriptions

Form fields require tooltips. Tooltips are read aloud by screen readers and are also shown to users that hover over the field with a cursor. This allows users to know what data or content the form field is expecting.

    1. Select All Tools from the top-header toolbar.
    2. In the All Tools side panel, select the Prepare a Form tool. The Fields side panel should expand from the right-rail toolbar.
    3. Right-click the form object from the Fields side panel to open the context menu, or select the form object and Shift + F10 on your keyboard.
    4. Select Properties... from the context menu. The Text Field Properties dialog box will open.
    5. In the General tab, insert a Tooltip for the field. Ensure that the tooltip accurately describes what the field is for. If the Required checkbox is checked, ensure that you include "(Required)" in the tooltip.
