Campus Safety & Security Meeting Minutes

January 21, 2026

Members Present:     Kevin Altenhofel, Heather del Rosario, Myisha Cutrona, Angelo Cutrona, Mark Gibson, Julian Martinez, Mariza Martinez, Jennifer Woodward, Sergio Gomez, and Jessica White

Members Absent:      Eloisa Garcia, Kara Gonzalez, Justin Madding, Vince Maiocco, and Brett Redd

Call to Order:          

The Taft College Campus Safety & Security meeting was called to order at 1:10pm.

Minutes – September 17, 2025:

The minutes for the October 15, 2025, meeting were approved by consensus.

Campus Crime Log:

Kevin reviewed the campus crime log and reported one incident within the past 90-day period.

Workplace Violence Incidents:

There have been no new incidents reported since the last meeting.

Maxient Update:

Kevin reported that Maxient is a web-based platform used to manage student conduct records. The system maintains a comprehensive history of student accounts, allowing authorized users to view prior incidents and identify repeat offenses across academic terms. Maxient supports Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) processes by enabling cases to be created, tracked, and followed through to resolution. The platform integrates with Banner to ensure data accuracy and includes student A-numbers and photos. Maxient is expected to go partially live next week and will help streamline processes, including Title IX investigations.

2024-25 Self Evaluation

The committee reviewed and updated the evaluation for submission to the Governance Council.

Other:

Angelo suggested adding new or additional signage around campus as needed. Kevin noted that any signage needs identified around campus should be reported to Campus Safety. Campus Safety is responsible for procuring the signage, and Maintenance & Operations will install it.
