Call to Order:          

The Taft College Campus Safety & Security meeting was called to order at 1:13pm.

Minutes – September 17, 2025:

The minutes for the September 17, 2025, meeting were approved.

Campus Crime Log:

Kevin reviewed the campus crime log and reported on incidents that occurred on October 2 and October 5, 2025.

Workplace Violence Incidents:

There have been no new incidents reported since the last meeting.

Charter Review:

Heather recommended combining items 4 and 6 of the Specific Responsibilities, as both relate to OSHA, and the committee agreed. She will create a safety walk form for committee members to use when identifying potentially unsafe areas on campus. Committee members are encouraged to monitor the areas they frequent for any safety concerns. The committee approved the charter with the revision to merge items 4 and 6.

2024-25 Self Evaluation

Item postponed to the next regularly scheduled meeting.

Other:

Due to safety concerns, there will be a revision to the current requirements for operating utility carts on campus. Moving forward, all individuals who wish to drive a utility cart will be required to complete a Utility Cart Safety Training, which will include a safety video and must be completed yearly. The intent of this requirement is not to issue citations, but to promote understanding and accountability. However, continued disregard for the safety rules may result in loss of utility cart privileges.
