Mandatory Title IX Training for Taft College Students
In compliance with Assembly Bill 2683 (AB 2683), all students enrolled at California Community Colleges are required to complete annual training on sexual violence and sexual harassment beginning September 1, 2024.
This training is part of a statewide effort to:
- Promote safety and respect on campus
- Ensure students know their rights and resources
- Prevent sexual violence and harassment through education and awareness
- Comply with state law and Title IX requirements
The law requires that all students complete this training within 6 months of the start of each academic year.
By completing this training, you help create a safer and more supportive learning environment for everyone.
- How Can I Complete the Mandatory Title IX Training?Training links are coming soon. Students will be notified when the training becomes available.
- I am a Continuing or Returning Student, AESL, or Dual Enrollment student, am I required
to take the training?Yes. AB 2683 requires that ALL students receive training annually.
- If I do not complete the training will my registration be impacted?No. Your registration will not be impacted if you do not complete the training.
- I am worried about traumatizing myself by watching the videos, are there any other
options for me to complete the trainingYes. You may complete the training by emailing the Title IX Officer, Dr. Rashitta Brown-Elize at relize@taftcollege.edu to go over different options that may be available to you.
