Taft College believes that work experience through student internships is valuable for any and all careers. Exposing students to career environments is vital professionally and personally.

Phillips 66 also believes in the importance of student internships and has awarded the Taft College Foundation with a $25,000 donation to support student internships in the Taft area. The program funds will be designated to support full time 2nd years students in good standing with a paid internship that aligns with their career goals.

“It’s important for our students to experience the workforce and develop their skills on the job,” Tori Furman, Career Technical Counselor says. “The exposure to projects and other working professionals is invaluable.”

Furman recruits top Taft College talent for placement with our industry partners, “Internships are a vital part of student success here at the college. Many students have financial barriers that make taking an unpaid internship impossible, so when partners like Phillips 66 donate their resources to help us remove this barrier, it creates opportunity where opportunity wouldn’t otherwise exist,” says Sheri Horn-Bunk, Executive Director of the Taft College Foundation.

Phillips is pleased to contribute financial support to the Taft College internship program. “Phillips 66 believes an educated and prepared workforce drives the world’s economy. Today’s students are the future and supporting them financially during their college years will give them an exceptional opportunity to explore future careers which will lead to their success. Phillips 66 is excited to partner with Taft College to support the growth of our young talent,” says Gabe Munoz, West Coast Pipeline Division Manager.
