Sarah Criss
Sarah Criss serves as Executive Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent/President and Board of Trustees. With 20 years of experience in education, Sarah assists executive leadership of the West Kern Community College District with a wide breadth of knowledge and critical skill sets. As a Taft College liberal arts alumna and resident of Taft, Sarah truly believes in the difference this community college makes on the West Side of Kern County.
Sarah earned a BS in Psychology from the University of Phoenix and a Human Resources certificate from California State University, Bakersfield. She credits her success to her fundamental roots at Taft College, most notably the one-on-one student experience. The staff and faculty here prepared her to navigate higher education and build a rewarding professional career.
Sarah was inspired by her mother, Raelene. As a child, Sarah watched her mother go to work and manage a family while also completing her Taft College associate degree in liberal arts. Now a mom herself, Sarah encourages her three children to attend college. Her oldest daughter, Katie, is a current Taft College student as a third-generation member of her family.
