Rebecca Roth
Becky Roth is Professor of Early Care, Education, and Family Studies, and Psychology. Known as “Miss Becky” to her ECEFS (Early Care, Education, and Family Studies) students and the Children's Center staff, she has been teaching at Taft College for more than 30 years.
Initially, she was the Supervisor of the Infant and Toddler Program at the Taft College Children's Center, where she supervised the After-School Program while teaching Early Care and Education (ECE) classes at the college.
In 2000, she moved over to the instructional side full-time, teaching ECE classes and coordinating the Foster and Kinship Care Education Program. Since that time, she has completed numerous trainings, both nationally and internationally, and taught for a Chinese preschool and kindergarten in Tianjin, China.
Roth was a Lecturer at California State University, Bakersfield for almost 10 years, and still enjoys collaborating on grants and projects that benefit students. She leads coordination for the California Early Childhood Mentor Program and Child Development Training Consortium, and teaches at Bakersfield College part-time. She is working on a Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education: Leadership and Advocacy. She loves teaching, learning, and working with students of all ages!
