Motion passed.

New Business

  • Master Plan for Developmental Services Workforce Development goals

Kelly shared the master plan document. It focuses on areas of need Taft College already supports or can grow to support. Taft College meets many of the current needs. There are also direct connections to other services, which is a mutually beneficial relationship. The goal is the DS classes we offer directly align with workforce so Taft College can support those needs. This document goes to the legislature each year. By Taft College letting them know we are doing this helps market what we are already doing. A statewide meeting to discuss is next week.

Darcy motioned to support the college and training opportunities as outlined in the Master Plan as of December, 2025. This was seconded by Kristi. Motion carried.

Information Items/Updates

(Action may be taken on any discussion item identified on the agenda)

  • DSPU (Direct Support Professional University)

DSPU provides continuing education opportunities. Kelly provided slides explaining what it is. Greg and Leslie are willing to support as a college. Kelly is willing to do the work. Funding can support this. No one else does this. Doing so would help Taft College increase enrollment, be more responsive, support community, and grow the program.

  • Disability Services Certificates Advisory Committee Planning Document and Survey

The Academic Senate has a list of questions that should be asked for any advisory committee that were adopted for DS. Kelly created the survey and sent out to DS faculty.
