New Business

  • Noncredit-Admissions, Enrollment, and Marketing (clear processes)

With noncredit classes projected to be offered in fall, questions were asked on the process for applying and registering for noncredit. Jaime shared there are two separate admission applications, one for credit, one for noncredit. He will send a copy of the noncredit application for review. If a student completes the credit application, they can enroll in noncredit classes as well. If a student completes the noncredit application, they can only enroll in noncredit classes. Questions on whether a separate website will be created with noncredit information were posed, as well as if we will have a noncredit section in the schedule and catalog. Darcy shared the noncredit regional meeting is scheduled for March 20th at COS.

  • Spring Goal: CTE Advisory Committee Support (review info, update relevant docs, house updated info online in central area for easy access)

Darcy requested access to the CTE shared drive to review information we currently have on file, and she will bring it to the next meeting for discussion.

Information Items/Updates

(Action may be taken on any discussion item identified on the agenda)

  • CTE Minimum Qualifications Related to Professional Experience Document

Darcy compiled feedback received from division chairs. Darcy will work to update and send to Academic Senate. The document will only focus on CTE minimum qualifications. A recommendation to Academic Senate to potentially expand the document to include other subjects as well might be of interest (i.e. PHED/Dance/Coaching). Sharyn shared any modifications go to the Seante and Board for approval.

  • Noncredit Disability Services courses approved
  • Allied Health Programs (Med Assisting, Nursing, Paramedics, Phlebotomy…)
    • Speech Pathology has been approved by the region.
    • Medical Assisting-Can be Dept of Public Health Certified after program is up and running.
    • Phlebotomy is in progress. We are currently waiting for the feasibility study which should be completed by April 15th.
  • CTE Dean Position-Failed search. Position has been posted again and interviews should take place in mid-March.
