The charter updates will be sent to Academic Senate for review. The Committee will review the CTE Minimum Qualifications Related to Professional Experience Document, and related process, at the next meeting and establish goals.

Jaime and Greg attended and provided the following CTE program updates:
- Registered Nursing: A consultant has been hired to complete a feasibility study. It is fair to tell students it is still our goal to begin an RN program; however, we won’t know how to proceed until that study is completed. At this time, we have no time frame to provide.
- Environmental, Health & Safety: This will refine OSH, and was submitted and approved by regional consortium. We will hear more about the program requirements via curriculum process.
- Speech Language Pathology Aide/Assistant: This will be a new program and is currently being finalized and in the process of being submitted to curriculum for consideration.
- Other programs that are being discussed:
- Expansion of corrections
- Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
- Phlebotomy
- Paramedics (this will not happen in spring, as it requires a full-time director and funding has not been confirmed)
There is no timeline for when these programs might develop, and discussions are still in preliminary stages. Another CTE Advisory Committee meeting will be scheduled for the near future.
This information will be shared with Student Services and may be helpful with student inquiries.
Tabita mentioned COTA (Occupational Therapy Assistant) may be a program for Taft College to consider. Vicki mentioned AP 4225 is in the process of being updated to accommodate repeats for EMT courses for students receiving ‘C’ grades. Establishing the EMT classes as non-credit may also be recommended in curriculum review.
