Taft College Foundation Honors Community Visionaries Ray and Lodema Hatch

Taft College and The Taft College Foundation Salutes the veterans of our community with the time-honored 8th Annual Cougar Alumni and Friends Cookout on Thursday, October 19, 2017. Last year’s event was a huge hit, serving over 400 people. This year, we are going to expand to accommodate 500 people and feature the culinary talents of Flaco’s Tacos, as they deliver traditional Santa Maria BBQ.

One of the highlights of the night comes from VFW Post 7216 Color Guard as they march across the Taft College Quad Amphitheater to kick off the event.

This year’s Community Spirit Award will go to two community visionaries! Dedicated to education and the community of Taft and the development of Taft College, we are pleased to honor Ray and Lodema Hatch. Both Ray and Lodema has strong roots in Taft. Both alumni of Taft College, they believe that growing educational opportunities is what has continued to make Taft College a stand-out opportunity. Through volunteerism with Rotary, the Taft Chamber of Commerce, Taft City Council, the Friends of Carrizo Plain Board of Directors and numerous other local organizations, Ray and Lodema have created a strong legacy and has continued to inspire community philanthropy.

Tickets are $30 and $20 for TC students and faculty. We can’t forget this is a Veteran’s celebration. With that in mind, Veteran’s get 2 Complimentary tickets.
