Jaime López


Jaime López  has proudly served Taft College as Dean of Instruction since May, 2025. In his prior position as an Associate Dean of Instruction at Taft College, Jaime led campus efforts in expanding educational Dual Enrollment and Concurrent Enrollment partnerships, extending Taft College’s service area footprint. He has collaborated closely with faculty leaders and the campus community on implementing various instructional grants and initiatives such as Zero Textbook Cost expansion and Guided Pathways, clarifying students’ paths to their academic and career goals. He also participates on several campus committees.

Jaime brings to his current role extensive experience in leading K-16 Instructional and Student Services programs. Prior to joining the Taft College family, he served as the Program Director for Rural Initiatives at Bakersfield College where he led various workforce development programs, the Adult Education Program, and operations of the Bakersfield College Delano Campus, as well as various satellite sites in Bakersfield and rural communities.

Jaime is a first-generation college graduate and a proud community college alum, graduating from Bakersfield College. Upon completing his associate’s degree, he transferred to California State University, Bakersfield, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Health Care Administration. Jaime is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at California State University, Los Angeles.

Jaime’s commitment to the community extends beyond his role at Taft College. He serves as a West Kern representative in the Governance Council for California Jobs First. He also works with partnering educational institutions on ongoing initiatives.
