The STEM program’s purpose is to actively and strategically engage, influence and motivate K-12 students, Taft College students and the community in STEM activities, to increase innovation. The K-12 outreach includes activities such as introducing STEM hands-on activities into the teachers lesson plans and sparking their interest in a variety of STEM fields. On-campus outreach, at Taft College, engages the students to pursue STEM paths, four-year degrees, and certificates of achievement. The Young Innovators Club is an after school program where we dive into activities that touch on the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. Summer STEM is a unique summer program that offers 6th-8th grade students the opportunity to gain hands on experience with topics ranging from robotics and engineering to ecology and resource conservation.
