For some this will be the first time you get to meet Roxy. She will be our FIRST alumni spotlight in “What’s Your Story?” On Taft College Multiply (TCM).
College was never not an option for Roxy. Her dream after high school was to immediately get into a 4 yr university. She applied to 16 colleges and only got into 2, Taft College and CSUB. Instead of looking at this as a setback, Roxy took her situation as a new challenge and didn’t back down. From her first steps on Taft College’s campus she knew the doors of opportunity were starting to open and she would waste no time walking through them.
Roxy realized her SAT and ACT scores weren’t high enough for the other 14 colleges. She decided to go to Taft College and start making her way. Taft College changed her life. Roxy says many people contributed to her journey this far, and if it weren’t for their influence she wouldn’t be were she is today. Fred Holmes, John Kopp, Cindy Patterson, The Wonderful Company, Chevron, Brian Jean, The Taft College Foundation, and many more. Below is a little snapshot of Roxy’s work, determination and ambition. Roxy is just beginning her journey and our T.C. family can’t wait to see what she does. Congratulations Roxy for all your accomplishments and more to come. We are proud of you.
