Specialized Academic & Disability Counseling

Taking college classes without a Student Education Plan is like starting on a journey without a goal or a map …it's easy to get lost.

Students that are eligible for services through Student Support Services are encouraged to meet with one of our qualified Student Support Services Counselors for the purpose of planning and discussing your educational goals. Ideally, this meeting should take place before or during the student's first semester, and as needed throughout the student's academic career.

The Student Support Services Counselor will help you develop a Student Education Plan… your "road map"… that considers your strengths and needs and gives the best course continuum and time frame for your individual educational journey. For more information or to schedule an appointment, stop by the Counseling Center, or call (661) 763-7748.

Counselors, trained in working with students with learning disabilities are available by appointment, or on a "drop-by" basis, to discuss your special needs as they relate to your disability… or to help you determine if you have disability related needs. If you need to adjust your accommodations, discuss accommodation options, or you just want to talk about your academic needs or disability concerns, be sure to stop by the SSS building, or call at (661) 763-7769.
