To log in to Taft College\'s wireless network, enter your A Number for the User ID and your Password is your first initial capitalized followed by your last name initial and the last 6 numbers of your A Number.
Example: Student Tom Jones with an A Number of A0002005 would use A0002005 for the User ID and Tj002005 for Password.
Please note the following procedural responsibility in reference to class assignments:In case of unplanned absence/emergency, the instructor is required to call the office of Instructional Support Services at (661) 763-7919 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include course number, dates, times and reason in your message.If an 8:10 a.m. class is to be missed, please call or email Instructional Support Services between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.For all planned absences, please fill out a Plans for Classes to be Missed form. The instructor may choose to cancel class or have a substitute for continued class instruction. It is the instructor’s responsibility to find an approved substitute. Please consult division chair or Office of Instruction for approved substitutes.
If a substitute is requested, instructors are to provide assignment information for the substitute as soon as possible before the absence.Under ordinary circumstances it is assumed that the instructor will return to teaching duties on the succeeding day, unless notification is given to the contrary.All faculty are responsible for completing an absence report form at the end of each month. Please see Human Resources for information regarding absence reports.Deadline for absence reports to be submitted the 25th of each month.
Faculty travel packets are provided in the Instructional Support Services office. The deadline to turn in the travel packet is the last Monday of the month. Guidelines are provided to ensure that the travel packet meets Board approval. Packets will be returned due to insufficient information for revision if they do not meet the posted guidelines. USE OF COLLEGE VEHICLES
All users of college vehicles must observe the following regulations:Make reservations for a car five (5) working days ahead.Do not take a school vehicle without having received authorization.Do not allow an unauthorized driver to operate a college vehicle.Return the car to the vehicle area upon your return. Avoid keeping cars at home over the weekend – they are often needed by others over the weekend or early on Monday morning.Report immediately any mechanical difficulties observed, however minor, to the Maintenance Office.District or personal passenger vehicles must not carry more than the legal number of passengers for the particular vehicle.
If requesting Perkins funds, please include this form. It correlates exactly with Perkins reporting requirements.
CLASS FIELD TRIPS
The following packet describes what is required when applying for a field trip. Packets are due to Instructional Support Services at least 30 days in advance of your field trip. Field trips must have been requested during the previous year to ensure funding especially when requiring an Orange Belt bus. Not all forms are necessary for all field trips. Please read the descriptions carefully. If a travel expense is a fixed cost such as registration for a conference, the college can cut a check if the request for check form is turned in with 30-day notice.If a travel expense is a variable cost such as entrance fees per student on a field trip, the instructor will incur the cost themselves, then request a reimbursement with all original receipts.
