Math 0230-40, Essential Mathematics
Math 0230 is designed to teach and reinforce basic
proficiency in the basic ideas and skills of arithmetic, which are: whole
numbers, adding subtracting, multiplying and dividing fractions, decimals,
ratio and proportions, and percents. Only chapters 1-6 will be covered.

Kit includes an e-book you can use instead of purchasing the book.
Estimated Time Per Week: Math 230 will introduce the concepts of
arithmetic and will cover Chapters 1 to 6 in the text. Students can
expect to spend at least 10-12 hours per week reading, doing homework
problems, watching math videos and/or working on MyMathLab.Special Requirements: Since
the entire class is conducted online, you will need access to the
internet and a valid email address to use MyMathLab. Students will
submit all homework and exams online.Assignments & Tests:
Homework, tests and the final will be submitted through mymathlab.com.

Additional Comments: Attendance is measured by the student’s
participation and progress through the course. Students may be dropped
from the class if they are not making "continuing progress" in the
class. "Continuing Progress" is defined as participating in the class
discussions and taking the chapter tests no later than the last day
scheduled.
