This course surveys
World History from the emergence of human beings through the Renaissance.
Topics will include the River Civilizations, Greece, Rome, China, India, and
Southeast Asia, Islam, Early American Civilizations, Africa, and the
emergency of Europe.

Eligibility for English 1000 & Reading 1005 strongly recommended

Estimated Time per Week: Students can expect to spend
approximately 8 to 10 hours per week reading, writing and taking exams.
Special Requirements: Access to the Internet and a computer with current
software.
Assignments & Tests: Students will complete 15 chapter
discussions, 3 topical chronologies, 4 quizzes and one final exam.
Proctored Exams: Exams are NOT proctored.
Additional Comments: Because this is a distance-learning course,
attendance is not an issue. Turning assignments in on time is. It is
your responsibility to drop the course. Drops will not be backdated.
