of the functions, objectives, organization and structure of business and its
importance in a free enterprise system.

Estimated Time Per Week:
Students can expect to spend approximately 8 to 10 hours per week reading
and completing required assignments.
Special Requirements:
Students are expected to work independently. Students must log on to the
Taft College website the first week of class to obtain a copy of the course

Proctored Exams: Yes. All exams must be proctored. See the Proctor Identification Procedures for

Additional Comments:
This course is not delivered through the Etudes Program. It is an “offline”
course where students are responsible for following the directions given in
the course syllabus, completing and submitting assignments, and taking exams
by the deadlines given in the course syllabus. Students can contact the
instructor via the methods identified above if any questions, comments, or
concerns arise. Prompt feedback will be provided. Students can submit their
