INCO 48-83 Information Competency and Bibliography

Learn how to "search and retrieve" effectively, that is, how to find and evaluate information and select the sources that are most appropriate to your purpose. Learn how to properly cite your sources of information in a bibliography, or list of works cited. Assignments are designed as practical exercises that may be applied to other classes you are taking or to your personal research activities.

    • Book: This resource is NOT a textbook and you are NOT required to purchase it, but purchase IS highly recommended. The book may be borrowed at any academic or public library or branch.   • Special Requirements:   This class is conducted online. You must have Internet access and be comfortable with email, word processing, and working independently.
  • Assignments & Tests:  7 weekly quizzes, assignments, and on-line discussions; 1 bibliography/list of works cited (final project)

  • Additional Comments:    This class moves very quickly! If you miss the first assignment, you will be dropped.
