ENGL 50-71 English Fundamentals
This is a college preparatory course for those students
whose placement test scores indicate a need for a review of the
mechanics of written composition: sentence structure, punctuation,
vocabulary, and spelling. Intensive training in paragraph and essay
writing, reading for understanding, and learning the grammatical aspects
of the English language are included. Students must pass this course to
graduate from Taft College. For this reason, it represents the writing
standards for the college and students who pass the class must be
expected to have achieved a minimum level of competency in writing.
- Advisory:
Qualify by assessment process or pass English 55
with a grade of "C" or better.

is. If you do not meet the first assignment deadline, I will assume
you do not wish to stay in the class and drop you unless you contact
me. It is your responsibility to drop the course. Drops will not be
backdated. Contact the counseling center or the distance learning
help desk to drop the course. Plagiarized work will receive zero
points.
