ECON 1A-70 Principles of Economics - Micro
Econ 1A is the study of the national and international economy with emphasis on determination of national income, employment, price levels, and cyclical movements with special emphasis on fiscal and monetary policy.

- Textbooks & Estimated Costs:
- Rental Text: Economics Today 14th Ed. Roger LeRoy Miller. Rental price is 20% of the cost of the textbook.
- Purchase Text: Economics Today: The Micro View Study Guide
- Estimated Time Per Week: Students can expect to spend
approximately 6 hours per week doing coursework.
- Special Requirements: The format of the class allows
complete student control of their work schedule within the confines
of deadlines established by the course syllabus. Students should
contact the instructor during the first week of class. Depending
upon circumstances this may be on campus, via e-mail, or telephone.
All work should be completed and turned in by the due dates set up
in the syllabus. Students may be dropped from the class if they are
not making "continuing progress" in the class. "Continuing Progress"
is defined as turning in work as scheduled. Work on this class every
week. Continuous work is necessary for success! Directions for the
course are included in the course syllabus. Students can submit
their work via Fax, U.S. postal mail, the LRC on campus, through the
TC aides at TCI, or in person.

problems and weekly quizzes
- Proctored Exams: Yes, four Unit Exams. See the
Proctor Identification
Procedures for directions on how to set up a proctor for
approval.
- Additional Comments: Because this is a distance-learning
course, attendance is not an issue. Turning assignments in regularly
is. Deadline is defined as follows; homework and tests are expected
to be completed and in my hands by the due date in course syllabus.
It is the responsibility of the student to drop the course. Contact
the counseling center or the distance learning help desk to drop the
course.
