ECE 16B Early Intervention and Inclusion

This course will focus on the research, theories, and practical applications from the fields of both early childhood education and special education. Emphasis is on adapting curriculum strategies to facilitate all domains of development in children with exceptional needs. This course will satisfy one of the requirements for the Early Intervention Certificate.

  • Advisory: Eligibility for English 50 and 54 strongly recommended; ECE 16A recommended; 48 hours lecture

  • Textbook & Estimated Costs:
    • Rental Textbook: The Developmentally Appropriate Inclusive Classroom in Early Education, Regina Miller. Check with the college book store for current pricing.
  • Estimated Time Per Week: It is expected that you will spend between 4-6 hours in reviewing lecture notes, reading, and completing assignments.
  • Assignments & Tests :  This course has 12 assignments and 2 exams.
  • Proctored Exams: There are no proctored exams required.
