MGMT 1535-40: Decision Making & Problem Solving

This course (formerly MGMT 18) is a ½ -semester credit course designed to introduce the student to decision making and problem solving as a supervisor.

  • Advisory: Eligibility for English 1000 and Reading 1005 strongly recommended; 8 hours of lecture, 7 assignments, 1 final project

    • Office Hours: The instructor will be available on campus on Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. unless in classroom, or by appointment.
    • Student Contact Hours: The instructor is available Monday through Thursday from 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. to work directly with students on this course.
  • Units: ½ semester credit
  • Class Start and End: October 5th to October 16th, 2009 - Only two weeks, and entirely on-line. There are five lesson modules, seven homework assignments, and one final project.

  • Additional Comments: This course requires students to use a system of uncertainty to make better decisions. Exercises surrounding the paradoxes help to illuminate and clarify each student’s style of decision making and problem solving. Once these are discovered, a new set of challenges is set before the student to allow them to apply the new system.
