This class introduces you to the basics of research -- where to look for information, how to use it, and how to decide if it's helpful or not. The methods taught in this course can be applied to all kinds of research in all subjects.

- Students need access to Gibaldi, Joseph. MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers 7th ed. New York: Modern Language Association of America, 2009. Students are not required to purchase the text as it is available in most academic and public libraries.
- Estimated Time Per Week : Four (4) hours/week
- Special Requirements : Access to the Internet is preferable as is any Library of Congress-based library.
- Assignments & Tests : Weekly assignments and quizzes (total of 7 each); one final bibliography project.
