ECON 2120-40 Principles of Economics – Micro
This course is an introduction to principles of
microeconomics. An analysis of the value and distribution theory, supply and
demand including the theory of market structures, and the pricing and
allocation of the factors of production, together with market models and
general equilibrium analysis and study of the international economy.
Emphasis is on tools of economic thinking and the historical development of
these tools.

1050 strongly recommended

Estimated Time Per Week: Students should expect to spend
approximately 10 hours per week doing coursework and participating in online
discussions/forums.
Special Requirements: The format of the class allows student to have
substantial control of their work schedule within the confines of deadlines
established by the course syllabus. Students must logon to the course
website during the first week of class. All work must be completed and
turned in by the due dates set up in the syllabus. Exceptions to the due
dates are allowed in certain situations, however students are required to
communicate with the instructor as early as possible when these situations
arise.
Assignments & Tests: Selected end of textbook chapter problems
and weekly quizzes, unit exams and participation in scheduled forums.
Proctored Exams: No, all quizzes and exams are conducted online.
Additional Comments: Because this is a distance-learning course,
attendance is not an issue, however turning assignments in regularly is. It
is your responsibility to drop the class if you decide you do not want to
continue. Deadlines for homework and exams are defined in the syllabus.
