Myisha Delaney has been a part of Taft College Athletics since
2003. She began assisting the TC Men’s Soccer team earning play off
contention 2 out of the 3 years and gaining recognition at both the
state and national levels. She is now working as the Head Coach of
the Taft College Women’s Soccer Team. She started her coaching
career in 1999 working at her old high school, Long Beach Wilson and
later in 2001 coaching at state and nationally ranked Long Beach
City College. Within those years, she’s earned several league and
conference titles and two State Championships. Myisha‘s goal is to
build the same caliber of program with the women’s soccer team here
at Taft College.
Myisha has played at the college and university levels earning the first State Championship for Long Beach City in 1997 as the team captain. She also earned the conference "Player of the Year" honor and was named State Playoff MVP. She continued her soccer career playing Div I with Long Beach State then finished her last two years at Cal State Dominguez Hills. There she was named team MVP and Female Athlete of the Year, and made First Team All-Conference. She currently plays semi-pro soccer with AJAX of America in the WPSL along side and against some of the top names in the world (Shannon Boxx, Brandi Chastain, Shannon McMillan, Sissi, etc.)
Myisha plans to give young women soccer players the chance to continue their soccer career at the highest level. Her program is designed to develop student athletes to compete at the university level both athletically and academically through discipline, work ethic, and desire. Ultimately, Myisha hopes to provide here athletes with the same opportunities she has been given from going to school and playing soccer.
