Official Transcripts

There are three ways to order an official transcript at Taft College:

Option 1: Internet Request 

Taft College has partnered with Credentials, Inc. to accept transcript orders via the internet through a secured site. Taft College has also appointed Credentials, Inc. as the designated agent for processing and sending official transcripts, including electronic EDI transcripts, and PDF transcripts; which are produced using this service. The PDF transcript can be certified as unaltered by uploading the file to the company's website that is provided during the delivery process. Credentials, Inc. has been granted the authority to deliver all such transcript requests on behalf of Taft College and to respond to any inquiries regarding these transactions.

1. Go to the Taft College webpage and select the CougarTracks login link 
2. Enter your Taft College Student ID number and password
3. Click on "Student Records" on the left menu
4. Select "Order Official Transcript"
5. When ready, put in your request for your official transcripts to be ordered

 

What if I have not been a student at Taft College for a while and I cannot view my account via the CougarTracks System?

If you have not been a student at Taft College for over 2 semesters, you will need to reapply (update your information on the application). After doing so you will regain access to view your information through the CougarTracks System.

Credentials Solutions LogosIf you are not an active student then you can go directly to TranscriptPlus® and they will facilitate your request 24 hours per day, 365 days per year for a minimal service charge.  Requesting transcripts through Credentials, Inc. will:

*       Eliminate the need to come to Taft College to place your order.

*       Eliminate the delay created by submitting requests by mail.

*       Authorize and process your credit card payment.

*       Facilitate the authorization to release student records, as required by law.

*       Provide e-mail or fax communication with you while your order is being processed.

*       Provide operator assistance from 7:00 a.m. (CST) to 7:00 p.m. (CST) Monday through Thursday and 7:00 a.m. (CST) to 5:00 p.m. (CST) on Friday, by calling 1-800-646-1858 (THIS NUMBER IS FOR TRANSCRIPT ORDERS ONLY.  Please contact Academic Records at 661-763-7756 for all other matters).

*       Allow you to submit your request any time day or night.

Note:  Internet ordering accommodates three types of requests: 

1.    Regular Service: which will be mailed out within approximately 10 working days after receipt of signature authorization.

2.    Rush-Hand Carries: which will be available for pick-up the 2nd business day (Monday - Thursday ONLY), after 1:00pm, AFTER receiving your signed authorization.  

3.    Rush-by Mail: Rush orders to be mailed will be sent out the 2nd business day after receiving your signed authorization.

Option 2: Order In Person

Transcripts can be ordered in person at the Academic Records Office, located at 29 Emmons Park Drive, Taft, CA  93268 during regular business hours. If you would like to fill out the Transcript Request Form in advance and bring it in, please also remember that the student must be the one dropping off the request.

Note: The student must be present and their photo identification is required to order transcripts in person.  In-person orders take significantly longer to process

Complete the Transcript Request Form, make checks payable to Taft College and mail to:

TRANSCRIPT POLICIES

*       Transcript orders will NOT be processed until all outstanding debts and/or holds are cleared.

*       In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, records may not be released to a third party without the written, signed authorization of the student.

*       Student must be present and picture I.D. is required to order and pick up transcripts in person.  NOTE: Rush transcripts held for pick-up will be held for a maximum of 30 days.  If they are not picked up within the 30 days following the printing of the transcript, they will be destroyed and will not be refunded.  A new order and applicable fee will be required.

*       The first two transcripts (lifetime) a student orders are FREE (only available with in-person or mail orders).  These are not available for internet orders through TranscriptPlus®.

*       Regular service transcripts cost $4.00 each.  RUSH transcripts cost an additional $8.00 each. A minimal service fee will be added in addition to the aforementioned College fees for internet orders through TranscriptPlus®.

*       We do not process phone, fax or email requests due to student confidentiality.

*       IGETC or CSU Certification, please allow up to 10 business days for processing. It is the responsibility of the student to order a general education certification with the transcript, we do not automatically certify. Rush service is not available.

*       Transcripts will include Work in Progress for students enrolled in the current semester.

*       Mailed & In-Person transcript request will be processed in approximately 2 weeks.  Online orders via CougarTracks Student Portal will be processed in 5-7 days.  Allow additional time for initial requests of CSU General Education and IGETC Certifications. Request must include direction to hold for grade change, certification or degree posting.

*       Final grades are available on transcripts approximately 4-6 weeks following the end of the semester.

*       Electronic transcripts are not included in the two free transcripts.  Please go to the CougarTracks link to order an electronic transcript.


COST OF TRANSCRIPTS:

*       The first two copies (lifetime) will remain FREE. Additional copies are $4 per copy.  (only available with in-person/mail orders)

*       RUSH SERVICE is $8 IN ADDITION TO THE REGULAR SERVICE FEE PER COPY (Total $12 per copy).

*       A minimal service fee will be added in addition to the aforementioned College fees for internet orders through TranscriptPlus®.

Unofficial Copies: An unofficial copy of a student's academic record, reflecting courses taken during or after the Summer 1990 session, is available via Cougar Tracks. Transcripts prior to Summer 1990 are not available on-line. To obtain these prior records, please visit or contact the Academic Records Office.
